Thank you so much for your interest in my photography sessions.
I take great pride in being a specialist newborn & baby photographer. I am 100% focused on newborn & baby photography…it’s all I do. All of my focus, attention and creative energy goes into this, which means that when I’m working on your photoshoot, I’m only focused on providing a relaxed and enjoyable experience, and capturing timeless, beautiful and truly special images of your precious baby.
Your baby’s safety and comfort is my first priority.
Working with, posing & photographing newborns & babies requires skill, patience and safety awareness. Training is essential to posing babies safely, which is why I trained with an award-winning newborn photographer (twice awarded Newborn Photographer of the Year), even though I have been a photographer for 7 years.
I have two beautiful little ones myself, & totally understand how it feels in the first days and weeks with a new baby. I will always hold, soothe & pose your baby with understanding, care & affection.
I only use safe posing techniques and will NEVER take a photo of a newborn in an unsafe pose. I will only take a photo if your baby is relaxed & happy to be in that position. If not, I will re-position them until they are relaxed and happy. All of my props and equipment are suitable for newborn use.
For your baby's safety and your peace of mind, I am registered with the British Association of Newborn Photographers, am CRB / DBS checked and qualified in infant first aid. Your baby will be in very safe hands.
It helps to know up-front what you’re interested in as it helps to plan your session.
Do you like natural shots or posed images? Do you have any colour preferences? Would you like siblings or family images or simply newborn images?
Is your baby a little older and you're looking for beautiful images of them?
Don’t worry if you don’t know exactly what you want, we can chat & figure it out together. Simply click below to book your FREE, no obligation planning session.
Newborn sessions ideally take place when your baby is 5-14 days old and still super-sleepy & able to curl up into those sweet newborn poses. That said, my newborn sessions run up to the age of 4 weeks (6 weeks for premature babies), in case you can't make it in those very early days.
I recommended that you book your session as soon as you know your due date, so that I can reserve your preferred date (finalised when baby arrives). I am able to take bookings later than this, so don't worry if you're already past this point. If your baby arrives early or late, just let me know at your earliest convenience and we'll work it out. I do have late availability sometimes, so even if your baby has already arrived, get in touch.
If your baby boy is due to be circumcised, please let me know & schedule your session either before or at least seven days after the circumcision.
Is your baby older than 1 month?
No problem at all! I love working with older babies too! The sessions work very much as outlined above. The main difference is that older babies like to stretch out and are awake more than newborns. This means that you may not get those curled-up sleepy newborn poses. Instead you get amazing wide-awake images of your baby smiling, showing off their cheeky expressions and their individual little personality!
The planning stage consists of 3 key steps:
i. I create an outline plan for your session, based on the conversations that we have when initially discussing and booking your session.
ii. When your booking date is finalised (once baby is born), we have a brief conversation about your baby & anything that may be relevant to the session, so that I can create a detailed plan of poses, props, outfits etc and tailor the session especially for your baby.
iii. At the beginning of your session, we quickly review information about your baby, so that any last minute changes can be made if needed.
The studio is warm & cosy, as your baby will spend a lot of the time wearing a lightweight wrap or outfit, in a nappy, or naked. I recommend that parents and siblings wear layers which can be removed if you feel too warm.
I provide all of the beautiful outfits, blankets, furs, hats, headbands, props etc. Please let me know in advance if you would like to bring something for your baby to wear, so that I can co-ordinate props, blankets etc.
For sibling or family shots, please think about what clothing will go well together in the group images. I’d be happy to discuss this with you.
Newborn babies often have dry skin. Please don’t apply oil or cream just before your session, as it will make their skin look unnaturally shiny. If you don’t like the appearance of the dry skin, just let me know and I can remove it from the images.
If there is anything that usually helps your baby settle (such as a dummy / pacifier or baby blanket), please bring them with you.
Sessions start at 9.30am and run for up to 2-3 hours. This may seem like a long time, but my sessions are entirely baby-led, with the first part of the session completely dedicated to feeding your baby and getting them relaxed and comfortable.
The studio has fully-stocked changing and feeding stations and we can take breaks whenever needed.
Mummy and Daddy are well looked after too, with a comfortable seating area, plenty of refreshments & even a breakfast station in case you didn't get a chance to grab something before you set off! Everything is cosy and relaxed...my sessions are often the first time parents have had a chance to relax since baby arrived.
During the session, I will aim to capture at least 4-5 different 'scenes' (different poses, props or people). It's not always possible, as it depends on how your baby is feeling that day. Every baby is different, some don’t want to sleep, and others don’t want to be posed in particular positions. I work at your baby’s pace and never rush the session, which gives you a chance to sit back and relax.
2-3 weeks after your session, you are invited back to the studio to view your images. If you have indicated that you’re interested in prints, these will also be available for viewing at this session. Prints and digital images are taken home the same day.
This session is relaxed, with refreshments supplied and no pressure! You've already chosen and paid for your package, so all you have to do is sit back, relax & choose. You're welcome to upgrade if you like (most people do when they see their beautiful gallery). It usually takes less than an hour, and all happens at your pace.
At this session you can also place orders for any other products you may want. Samples and pricing is available for review and discussion at the studio. Production times vary for different products, but additional products are generally ready within 3 weeks.
Newborn & baby photography is a specialist area which requires specific training & skills, experience, creativity, patience, detailed session planning & safety awareness (not to mention a calm and soothing way with babies!). My work starts long before you arrive and continues after you leave your photoshoot - creating beautiful, timeless images & works of art for you and your family to treasure for years to come.
I offer a range of stunning collections combining beautiful print and digital products.
Prices start at £175.
All of my collections include high resolution digital images which can be printed, and also lower resolution images for online and email use.
I also have a range of additional products (frames, metallics, acrylics etc). An indication of the range of products and further details are available upon request.
I also have a Referrals scheme, whereby you receive a free image* each time someone that you refer books a session with me. Your free image becomes available when they pay their booking fee. This works especially well for NCT and antenatal groups, whereby it is possible to refer enough people to receive your package for free. The person referred will also receive a free image. Please ask for details during your free planning session.
*Non-clients receive a cash gift for confirmed bookings.
